Date: Wednesday May 20th Topic: Why There Should Never be any Access/Universal Service Charges on Internet Telephony and What the Industry Needs to do to Stop Them.
Bruce Kushnick, President, New Networks Institute (NNI), has been a respected telecommunications analyst and visionary for over 15 years. During his career he has predicted the growth of numerous interactive information markets and services that have now become commonplace. Over the last decade he has advised clients (including American Express, AT&T, MCI, Sprint, The Weather Channel, NTT, Ogilvy & Mather, Northern Telecom, British Telecom, Pacific Bell, and BellSouth) on strategic and tactical issues relating to implementation of enhanced interactive communications. Also, Bruce is frequently quoted in the media, from The Washington Post and the LA Times to CNN, and has delivered keynote addresses on telecommunications topics worldwide. Note: I spoke with Jeff a few weeks ago when he was just back from the White House, speaking on Internet Telephony issues. When I asked him what was the most important topic being discussed, he mentioned regulation and forcing IP telephony entities to pay into Universal Access Fund. Bruce Kushnick should be an enlightening, and maybe controversial speaker that hits right home on this topic. (B.P.) Space is limited! Please RSVP to telephonySIG@i-community.com SIG Leader: Jeff PulverJeff has been a pioneer and leading proponet of Internet Telephony. His Pulver Report has kept people informed for ages (Internet time) and his Free World Dialup Project was ground-breaking in demonstrating the global application of Internet Telephony (more on what he does at http://www.pulver.com/ ). Thanks to Arthur Andersen & Company for their support. |
